We've all seen the photos and read the tales of people who have lost a ton of weight. We dare to picture ourselves in our own "AFTER" pose. But, what about what happens in between the before and the after?
In all of my years of trying to lose weight, I've rarely seen stories told from the middle. No one wants to talk about it. I get it.
The middle is where the work happens. It's not sexy like that hot "after" shot.
But it's where things sure get interesting.
Ok, everyone has a starting point, I guess. We can call it "my before"
My name is Marie. I'm almost 50 years old, a wife, a mother (and new empty nester!), a Walt Disney World geek, and a full-time writer. In 2017, I had to make a decision between life and death.
I was close to 400 pounds. Literally sick and tired all the time. There were two choices: continue to slowly kill myself or try ONE LAST TIME to take my life back.
What you'll find on this site is not a "before and after" story. Welcome to the long road in between!
The middle of the journey is long, but it doesn't have to be lonely. That's why I'm here: to reach out to others why may be on the same path and looking for a friend. I understand where you are and how hard it is to accomplish what you want to do.
I went from being barely able to walk one block to completing a half-marathon. Was I fast? Nope. No part of this journey has been quick or easy. Here I share my experiences: what works, what doesn't and the roller coaster of emotions that goes along with finding a quality life after years of neglect and unhealthy habits. Sure, I'll talk about weight loss. But my life is more than that. And so is yours.
That's what we're going to talk about here. Hope you enjoy!
