In my experience, tracking what I eat has been a major tool towards my success with my weight loss. Every time I think I can handle my eating without tracking, I go off the rails. It seems that science backs up my observation. It has to do with staying accountable - plus when I actually have to write down how much of something I ate, it's a reality check. "I ate HOW MANY CHIPS OR PIECES OF PIZZA??!"
As I began thinking about goals for December, the biggest challenge I know I'll face is keeping up with tracking. With a major road trip headed my way, it will be easy to fall into a complacency trap. So, this is my primary goal: track what I eat every day through the end of 2017. No excuses.
I posted this goal on the Facebook Group I'm on. It's a group of people who all listen to the same podcast Why's Advice. When I posted it, a bunch of them wanted to join in. I say the more the merrier! I can use all the support I can get!
So, I'm creating an official challenge for our merry group! We're focused! We're determined and we're #bettertogether!
What do you have to do?
It's simple, really! Just track what you eat. I don't care if you count calories or not, if you do Weight Watchers or not. Simply keep track of what you put in your mouth. You'll learn a lot about your patterns and habits along the way. Put it on your smartphone, a journal or whatever. You don't have to share with anyone if you don't want to. No judgements here!
I will be checking in on my social media pages (#TrackingThruDecember) and here with challenge updates. A few days I'll even post my full tracker (now that's scary!) Maybe that will put some extra accountability in there!
